Hello! My name is April.
I am a native of Colorado and continue to live here with my husband and four growing children. I love to read historical fiction, memoirs, and sci-fi fantasy—stories that inspire change and growth, or simply, the wisdom learned from life.
Literature has always been a part of my life. Angela’s Ashes (Frank McCourt), Under the Golden Sun (Jenny Ashcroft), and The Things They Carried (Tim O’Brien) are a few books that have left me speechless, giddy, or hugging my pillow in tears. The author’s voice is essential in making a piece of work into something impactful, relatable, and treasured. It is the editor’s responsibility to enhance and retain that voice, allowing some rules to be bent or broken while maintaining clarity and cohesion.
I earned an English degree from Colorado State University, and then later, a certificate of copyediting from UC San Diego Extended Studies.
My aim is to support and aid authors in reaching their goal of publication, in bringing their stories to readers, and in sharing their unique voice and experiences with us all.
I look forward to walking with you on this journey to polish your work and make it shine bright!
